• Creating packaging that consistently stands up to transportation and handling stress – if the packaging fails at this point, all else is meaningless.
• Make packaging that is easy to open and to merchandise.
• When torn, the resultant edges should be “safe” to handle (eliminate consumer paper cuts) and have an excellent look and feel.
• Have strong teeth, at a consistently even height, that will not only produce consistent perforations, but will be sturdy enough to stand up to the forces of rule insertion and diecutting.
• Make it simple to choose the right perforation for the specific application at hand.
• Be reasonably priced and readily available.
